Chrysanthemum Trials

Queensland’s chrysanthemum growers have long recognised the need to have a more extensive range of cultivars at their disposal. A larger range of colours and flower types is needed to satisfy the increasingly sophisticated consumer demand and the use of Chrysanthemum White Rust (CWR) resistant lines can significantly reduce production costs. The use of CWR resistant lines means reduced spraying costs and lower inspection charges, especially when flowers are to be shipped interstate.
In response to this demand, the two major Queensland chrysanthemum. propagators have been continually introducing new cultivars from overseas.
